We are a friendship-based social group that rehearses and performs for the teamwork, camaraderie and joy of music, not for money. We are a very small semi-professional choral group, and we sing a variety of sacred and secular music. We perform in nursing homes, shelters, and other venues, etc (e.g. Pittsburgh Downtown Partnership, the Aviary, Whole Foods, Art All Night, among others) .
We're still in search of the elusive tenor! Why are they so hard to find? How about even a baritone willing to push your limits? We could also use a second soprano since Kathy, who had sung with us for ten years, sadly passed away this year. An accompanist would also be nice, but not as important as singers. A small stipend may be possible for the accompanist on occasion, but for tax, copyright, and philosophical reasons, we prefer a volunteer.
See our website: www.friendsinharmony.net A car or ride is necessary, and you must be able to sing or learn to sing in a trained style. Sight-singing ability is a plus, but free vocal coaching and/or sight-singing training can be provided.
Must have passion for the project, and be committed to making a team with winning chemistry, both musically and personally. We rehearse Monday evenings in Squirrel Hill, September through June.; sometines Fridays in Highland Park over the summer.
