New Staff at Friendship Development Associates


date February 22 2007	Matthew Galluzzo has recently been named Penn Avenue Arts District Manager at Friendship Development Associates. Galluzzo will be managing the Penn Avenue Arts Initiative and utilizing the Main Street Program to build on and support the Penn Avenue Arts Initiative commercial corridor strategy. Galluzzo obtained an undergraduate degree in English from Thomas More College and graduated in 2005 with a Masters of Social Work - Community Organization/Social Administration Concentration from the University of Pittsburgh. Galluzzo comes to Friendship Development Associates with a wealth of community development experience. He served as the Community Development Specialist/Main Street Manager of Hazelwood Initiative where he directed multiple fundraising campaigns, organized various promotional events, coordinated research studies, and led various community campaigns to bring Sprout Fund Public Art program to Hazelwood. He has also worked as Elm Street Program Manager for Northside Leadership Conference. There, he developed a neighborhood cleanup competition, supported public safety initiatives, sought and structured opportunities for residential development within his Elm Street District. In his spare time, Galluzzo enjoys historic restoration, guitar, Major League Baseball, music production and review, as well as coffee. Galluzzo looks forward to using his prior positions to grow and shape Penn Avenue into a thriving arts community. Welcome Matthew!
