The Communications Committee endeavors to consistently publicize FPG events and news. The Committee prints The Friendship Journal quarterly and maintains the web site and community bulletin boards. In addition the Communications Committee produces and distributes the Friendship Neighborhood Resource Guide. | Membership Committee The Membership Committee recruits new members to become active volunteers who support current FPG initiatives and allow organizational growth. The Committee promotes active participation on FPG Committees and volunteerism, and plans the FPG's quarterly membership meetings and annual holiday party. | |
Neighborhood Environment Committee The Neighborhood Environment Committee implements various initiatives to maintain and enhance the physical environment of the Friendship neighborhood. They advocate for the planting of street trees and train neighbors to maintain our urban forest. The Committee maintains the parks at Baum Grove and the Friendship PlayPark, and organizes annual litter pick up days. Contact: environment@friendship-pgh.org | Public Safety Committee The Public Safety Committee directs neighborhood-based initiatives that reduce crime, improve the public's perception of crime, and educate Friendship residents on how to reduce crimes against individuals and property. The Committee provides resources to help residents form Block Watches and participate in National Night Out. Youth, Families and Education Committee The Youth, Families and Education (YFE) Committee advocates for the improvement of public schools serving the Friendship neighborhood. The committee also assists in the ongoing maintenance of the Friendship PlayPark. The committee develops and builds on relationships with community stakeholders that can further the FPG's mission through financial support, influence, and advocacy. | Zoning and Code Enforcement Committee The Zoning and Code Enforcement Committee responds to code and zoning infractions in an efficient and systematic manner so offenders are forced to correct violations, penalized when appropriate, and know not to repeat the offense. The Committee advises FPG Board and members about Housing Court, Court of Common Pleas, Zoning Board of Adjustment, and the Planning Commission hearings and actions taken by BBI regarding reported violations.
