If you live in the East End you should have received the annual trash pick-up schedule from the City of Pittsburgh.  Please note that Pittsburgh now offers recycling for many more items than previously, including:  corrugated cardboard, magazines/catalogs, junk mail/mixed paper, phone books and paperboard (like cereal boxes).  Items must be in blue bags (Home Depot has the big ones - Lowes does not) and items for recycling can all be in the same bags together, with the exception of corrugated cardboard and newspapers.  Those items must be separated, flattened and tied with twine.
