Summer Reading Extravaganza!

“Catch the Reading Bug” this summer! Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh - Main in Oakland will be abuzz with excitement as children, teens and adults kick off summer reading with a day crawling with activities. Pack a picnic, bring your family and take part in this summer festival with free tales and treats, entertainment and eats. There will be fun things for children, teens and adults!
 
     Here’s a sample of some of the fun things you’ll be able to do at Extravaganza:
    •    Watch fun performances and hear cool stories
    •    Meet Kenny Kangaroo and Ricky Raccoon
    •    Creep up the Climbing Wall
    •    Meet Katherine Ayres, author of Up, Down, and Around
    •    Personalize a Smiley Cookie with Eat’n Park
    •    Rock out with Radio Disney & Friends
    •    See glass blowing demonstrations with the Pittsburgh Glass Center
    •    Have afternoon tea with the Victorian Tea Garden
    •    Enjoy fun activities at Schenley Plaza
    •    Check out the Used Book Sale and support the Library
