Rachel Murchison

 

Rachel Murchison and her husband, Lou, moved to Pittsburgh three years ago from Washington, DC, and they feel so lucky to have landed in Friendship! Rachel’s career has focused on NGO fundraising, and she most recently served as a Director of Institutional Giving at the Environmental Defense Fund (EDF). Now in the midst of a career shift, she is pursuing a Master of Social Work at the University of Pittsburgh, with the goal of becoming a therapist. She grew up in North Carolina, attended Kenyon College, and received an MPA from Columbia University. She and her husband enjoy exploring the neighborhood with their toddler, Lucie, and dog, Pecan. 

 

Rachel really appreciates Friendship -- its walkability, the beautiful houses, great people, and proximity to so many parts of the city -- and is looking forward to joining the Board to give back to this unique community. Since moving here, she has wanted to find ways to get more involved and is excited to work alongside other neighbors to support this great neighborhood!
