Outreach Committee

Community building is a field of practice directed toward the creation or enhancement of community among individuals within a particular neighborhood or with a common interest. It is sometimes referred to as community development. We are dedicated to bettering our community through staging events where neighbors can interact with other neighbors, our elected officials, and business owners in the area.

The Outreach Committee is always looking for volunteers who want to give back to the neighborhood. We see building community as a means to increase social justice and individual well-being and to reduce negative impacts of otherwise disconnected individuals. We are currently looking for volunteers to help with event planning, marketing, and writing articles for local print and online media.

The Outreach committee oversees and assists with the following neighborhood events each year:

  • Quarterly Neighborhood Meetings

  • Volunteer Socials

  • The Friendship Inspiration Station for the Pgh Marathon

  • Friendship Yard Sale

  • Summer Neighborhood Picnic

  • Summer Movie Night

  • Neighborhood Holiday Party

Monthly Outreach Committee Meetings: Every 4th Thursday at 4 pm at The Soft Spot coffee shop, 5407 Penn Ave.
