Board of Directors
Megan Palomo
Megan’s roots in Friendship run as deep as her own history. Her parents' first home was in the neighborhood, and she spent the early years of her life here. She has always felt a strong connection to Friendship, so when Megan and her husband returned to Pittsburgh in 2010, they knew that this was the place they wanted to call home. They began as renters on S. Winebiddle St., then purchased their first home on Coral Street, where they lived for 11 years. (Some of you may remember their German shepherd, Luna, patrolling the block from her porch lookout). More recently, Megan and her family moved to S. Pacific Ave., where they plan to stay to raise their children. Professionally, Megan works as the Program Director for the local nonprofit, Tree Pittsburgh.
Megan has always loved Friendship for its neighborhood feel, walkability, and distinct charm. After 13+ years of living here, she values it more than ever for the tenacious group of people who work behind the scenes to make it the special place that it is. She is currently serving on the neighborhood advocacy team that is striving to keep the Montessori program in the Friendship School. As an FCG board member, she plans to work to protect and enhance our neighborhood’s vibrant spaces, sense of place, and urban connections.
