Friendship Community Group
Board of Directors
John Eberle
As a native of the Pittsburgh area, John has always loved the east end of the city, specifically the large Houses of Shadyside, Highland Park, Squirrel Hill, and Friendship. When the opportunity arose, he jumped at the chance to buy one of these large houses in the city's most walkable neighborhood. Over the past year of living in Friendship, he has met with many residents of the area, worked on restoring his house, and explored the neighborhood.
John resides at the eastern border of the neighborhood, in a house once owned by FCG's predecessor group, Friendship Development Associates. This connection to the FDA has given him the rich experience in what is possible with a community group. In the past year, he has advocated for keeping the 87 bus going along Friendship Avenue, keeping the buses off S. Atlantic and S. Pacific Avenues, and helping with the Friendship House Tour. As a FCG board member, he plans to help bring Friendship along as things change, while keeping the history and sense of community within Pittsburgh's second smallest neighborhood.
