Learn the proposed Bus Line Refresh changes

Pittsburgh Regional Transit (PRT) has taken the extensive community feedback from the initial draft and decided to change from a "redesign" to a "refresh" approach to address the concerns that the "first draft changed too much, too fast." Below is a summary of the updated proposed changes for the "refresh" as well as links to provide feedback to PRT directly. You can learn more about the objectives of the Bus Line Refresh (BLR) here.

Overall, we're seeing a significant improvement in the proposals from the initial draft. In the previous draft we saw several disruptive changes: discontinued service to downtown on several lines, discontinued service in the neighborhood on key lines, and rerouting through the neighborhood that impacted Freindship Neighborways. As you can see in the BLR we do see changes, but they are much less disruptive to our neighborhood that previously proposed.

That said, please give your own feedback to the lines all the lines here and those that you may use so PRT can continue to improve on this proposal. Instructions on how to provide feedback are below.

Modified Routes in Friendship

BLR has proposed these changes to the following routes

Modified Routes Surrounding Friendship

These modified routes offer service to Downtown and other destinations by walking to Centre/Liberty or Penn Ave

Leave feedback for PRT about Bus Line Refresh

Have you seen the proposed changes for Pittsburgh's bus lines yet? First, check out the Engage PGH page on the project.

What can each of us do next?

Share this with your neighbors and friends, in and outside of Friendship, to get feedback from everyone in the city that relies on these bus lines for work, school, and leisure. While there are many improvements from the first draft, PRT still needs to here from you about the proposed service changes and how they impact you and your friends/family. Read below to find out more information on how to leave your feedback with PRT.

1. COMPLETE SURVEY AND/OR POST COMMENTS ON THE MAP REDESIGN

   • Go to https://engage.rideprt.org/buslineredesign/draftnetwork1-findmyroute
   • Scroll to find the bus line you want to comment on (e.g., 79 / 89 / P17, 87, or 71A)
   • Scroll down and submit a response for each route

Note: You can submit multiple comments per route to avoid trying to fit all points in one comment.

If you complete the survey, then you may want to consider submitting a survey per each proposed route that interests you to ensure it registers with PRT. You can use the free-text field "Is there anything else you would like us to know about the proposed route/changes?" to provide details of concerns.

2. CONTACT PRT VIA EMAIL/PHONE OR OTHER METHODS

If you prefer to make direct contact with PRT or want to amplify your other feedback, then email buslineredesign@rideprt.org or call PRT Customer Service 412-442-2000.

PRT has made a list of contact methods for this round of feedback. Feel free to use one of these methods to ensure your feedback is heard.
